How we keep our Little Einsteins safe
At Little Einsteins, nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care. We know that when you leave your child with us, you are placing your trust in our hands, and we take that responsibility very seriously.
The safety of our nursery begins with a secure environment.
Your child’s safety at collection time is extremely important.
Every member of our team receives regular safeguarding training and understands their responsibility to protect children from harm. Concerns are acted upon promptly and in line with local authority guidance.
A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is always available within the nursery. See our policies for more detail.
Children are safest with close supervision from experienced, caring adults.
Our whole team hold current Paediatric First Aid qualifications, so trained staff are always available throughout the nursery.
Parents are informed immediately via a phone call.
These are extremely rare and we are lucky to have never experienced one; however, we would call an ambulance and parents at the same time whilst carrying out first aid.
We follow recognised safer sleep guidance to help ensure babies sleep safely and comfortably.
Our team complete regular Safer Sleep training. Babies are always placed to sleep safely, following current recommendations.
Sleeping babies are checked at regular intervals in line with our sleep policy. Every check is documented throughout each sleep period.
We set the correct room temperature and ensure suitable clothing for a comfortable, safe sleep.
When completing our care plan with parents, each baby or child’s individual sleep routine and preferences are discussed and agreed.
We regularly practise fire evacuation drills with the children so emergency procedures feel calm and reassuring.
Safety checks take place every day before children arrive.
Maintaining a clean environment helps keep everyone healthy. We always receive outstanding in our environmental health visits.
Every child’s individual medical and dietary needs are carefully recorded.
Children benefit enormously from outdoor learning, and we ensure this takes place safely.
Children’s safety is strongest when nurseries and families work together.
